A short post from me today. And indeed, I’m going to cheat and direct everyone to this post from literary agent Rachelle Gardner, which came into my inbox this week and served as a timely motivational aid.
Her message is about finding the strength to go on in the face of adversity, not giving up, and facing the reality that writing (or indeed anything worth undertaking) is hard. There’s nothing inherently new in these sentiments, but it’s always fortifying when someone takes the time to express it in words — and there’s never a bad time to hear (or read) them.
One thing I have noticed: The more times one is knocked to the floor, the faster one recovers. There’s definitely something to be said for developing ‘scar tissue’ around the soul.
